</>What does Marathon Duck do?
Races in Duck Life 8 are really a fight with the energy bar. It drains the whole way round, and if it empties before the line your duck falls asleep and the race is over. Low endurance makes that happen embarrassingly early. Marathon Duck keeps the bar where the race put it. Sprint whenever you feel like it, take the long route, chase first place instead of nursing a meter, and finish every race on your feet. Your full bar comes from the race itself, so a duck with high health still gets its bigger bar and nothing is inflated beyond what the game would give you. Switch it on before you start a race so it is holding the bar from the first step.

</>Common questions about Marathon Duck
What does Marathon Duck do in Duck Life 8: Adventure?
Marathon Duck holds your energy bar full for the whole race in Duck Life 8: Adventure. Races are really a fight with that bar: it drains the entire way round, and if it empties before the line your duck nods off and the race is over, which happens embarrassingly early when your endurance is low. With Marathon Duck on, the bar stays where the race put it, so you can sprint whenever you feel like it, take the longer route, and chase first place instead of nursing a meter. It is free in the ProjectMods catalogue.
Does Marathon Duck give my duck a bigger energy bar than normal?
No, and that is deliberate. Marathon Duck holds the bar that Duck Life 8: Adventure already gave your duck for that race, so a duck with high health still gets its larger bar and a low-health duck gets its smaller one. Nothing is inflated past what the game would hand you on its own. The result is that races feel like the version of the game where your endurance is simply never the limiting factor, rather than a race where your duck has become something the game does not recognise. Improving health still matters, it just stops deciding whether you finish.
What happens if my duck has already fallen asleep mid-race?
Switch Marathon Duck on before the race starts and you will never see it. If your duck has already run out and nodded off in Duck Life 8: Adventure, finish that race as normal and the mod will hold the bar from the next one, so nothing gets stuck and you are not left mid-race with a duck that will not wake up. This is the one quirk worth remembering: it is a before-you-start switch rather than a rescue button. The Before You Race note in the mod says the same thing, so the reminder is there in the launcher when you need it.
How do I race on my own energy again?
Turn the Enabled switch off. Marathon Duck stops holding the bar and Duck Life 8: Adventure goes back to draining energy exactly as it always did, with nothing left over on your save. Because it is a simple master switch, it is easy to use selectively: leave it off for the races you want to run properly, then flip it on for the one endurance-gated race that keeps ending three quarters of the way round. Flip it before the race begins rather than during, for the same reason the mod asks you to switch it on ahead of the start.
Is Marathon Duck worth using if my endurance skill is low?
That is precisely who it is for. Low endurance in Duck Life 8: Adventure means the energy bar empties long before the finish line, which turns early races into a slow crawl aimed at not falling asleep rather than an actual race. Marathon Duck removes that ceiling, so you can go and win races your duck is otherwise not ready for and keep the story moving. If you would rather raise the endurance skill itself, Prodigy Duck sets any of your duck's skills to the level you choose and Turbo Coach makes every training run pay out far more, and Marathon Duck pairs happily with either of them.
What options does Marathon Duck include?

Master switch. Turn it off to race on your own energy again.
Before you race
