</>What does Iron Hide (God Mode & Health) do?
Valheim can be brutal. A greydwarf shaman lobs a rock, a troll swings a log, a deathsquito appears from nowhere, and suddenly you're sprinting back to your tombstone across half a continent. Iron Hide puts a stop to that. Three toggles, and you decide how tough you want to be. God Mode is pure, no-questions-asked invincibility — bosses, lava, fall damage, drowning, none of it can put your Viking down. Infinite Health keeps your bar pinned to full, so even if something chips you, you're topped straight back up before the next swing lands. And Custom Max Health lets you slide your health ceiling anywhere from a sturdy 100 up to a mountain-crushing 5,000, turning your Viking into a walking fortress that laughs off trolls. Mix and match them. Want a fair fight but no risk of losing your run to one unlucky hit? Infinite Health alone. Want to stand in a lava field and admire the view? God Mode. Want to feel like a raid boss while still taking the odd scratch? Crank Custom Max Health and leave the rest off. Every toggle flips live from the mod menu, sticks through death and reloading, and switches cleanly back off whenever you want the real Valheim survival experience again. Built for explorers who hate losing an hour of progress to a cheap shot, builders who want to work on their base in peace without mobs interrupting, content creators staging cinematic fights without dying mid-take, and anyone returning to a hardcore world who just wants to enjoy the scenery for once.
</>What is Iron Hide (God Mode & Health)?

</>Common questions about Iron Hide (God Mode & Health)
What does Iron Hide do in Valheim?
Iron Hide gives your Viking three separate survivability toggles you can flip from the mod menu. God Mode makes you completely invincible — nothing in the game can kill you, including bosses, fall damage, drowning, and lava. Infinite Health keeps your health bar pinned to full, so if anything does manage to chip it, you're topped straight back up. Custom Max Health lets you raise your maximum health far above the normal ceiling, anywhere from 100 up to 5,000. Use one, two, or all three at once — they stack cleanly and every switch is instant.
What's the difference between God Mode and Infinite Health?
They solve the same problem in two different ways, so you can pick the feel you want. God Mode is absolute — you simply cannot be brought down by anything, and you'll stand in a lava field or take a dragon's breath without flinching. Infinite Health is a touch more grounded: damage still registers for a split second, but your bar snaps back to full before it matters, so you'll still see hit effects while never actually being in danger. Want a totally untouchable Viking? God Mode. Want to keep the visual feedback of combat while never losing a run? Infinite Health. Or run both together for maximum peace of mind.
How does Custom Max Health work?
Turn on the Custom Max Health toggle, then use the Max Health slider to pick your ceiling — anywhere from 100 up to 5,000. Your health bar immediately grows to that size, turning your Viking into a proper damage sponge that can wade through a troll camp and barely notice. Because Valheim normally rebuilds your maximum health from the food you've eaten, Iron Hide keeps re-applying your chosen number so it never quietly drops back down. When you switch the toggle off, your maximum returns to the normal food-based value on its own — no leftover super-health stuck to your character.
Do the toggles stay on after I die or reload my save?
Yes. Each switch keeps asserting itself while it's turned on, so god mode survives a death and respawn, infinite health carries across a reload, and your custom health ceiling is re-applied whenever the game would otherwise reset it. You don't have to keep flipping things back on every time you load in. The only thing that turns a feature off is you turning it off — at which point Valheim goes straight back to its normal, unforgiving self for that feature.
Will Iron Hide break my save or affect other players?
No. Iron Hide only ever touches your own local Viking — other players and every creature in the world are left completely alone, so you can't accidentally make a friend invincible or spoil a mob. Valheim is a private-server survival game with no server-side anti-cheat, so using it on your own worlds is perfectly safe, and nothing it does is written permanently into your character beyond the health values the game already tracks. Turn the mod off and your save behaves exactly as it did before. For dedicated multiplayer servers with their own rules, check your server's policy before switching invincibility on.
