</>What does Haunted Night do?

Wobbly Island is a sunny place. Haunted Night fixes that. Flip it on and the clock stops dead at whatever hour of the night you pick, so the sun never comes up and ruins the shot. Fog closes in as thick as you like — from a light haze on the water to a wall you can barely see the next house through. The sky turns whatever colour you choose, and a sick green or a deep bruised purple changes the whole island more than you'd expect. There's one more trick hiding in the mine. The game keeps a haunted mode down there for the ghost gravestone, and this switches it on whenever you want it — the lights start behaving strangely and the mine sounds like somewhere you shouldn't be. Everyone in your session sees the same night. The host sets the hour, the fog and the colours, and the island changes for the whole lobby at once, so nobody is standing in bright sunshine while everyone else is filming a horror film. Nothing is permanent. Switch it off and the clock starts again, the fog lifts, the sky goes back, and the mine settles down. Pair it with Outbreak! for a zombie night, Ghost Protocol for see-through wobblies, or the camera mods when you want the whole thing on film.

</>What is Haunted Night?

Haunted Night turns Wobbly Island into a horror set: hold the clock at any hour of night, dial the fog from thin haze to soup, recolour fog and sky, and wake the mine's haunted side. The whole lobby shares it; switching off puts it all back. </>Common questions about Haunted Night

What does Haunted Night do in Wobbly Life?

Haunted Night holds Wobbly Life's day-night clock at an hour of night you choose, so the sun never comes up and ruins a shot. Fog rolls in across Wobbly Island at whatever thickness you set, the fog and sky both take colours you pick, and an extra switch wakes the haunted mode the game already keeps in its mine. Everything sits behind one master toggle: turn it on and the island goes dark, turn it off and the clock restarts, the fog lifts, the sky returns and the mine settles down. Nothing is left changed behind you.

What does the Wake The Mine Ghosts option actually change?

Wake The Mine Ghosts turns the mine haunted — the same spooked-out tunnels Wobbly Life normally saves for the ghost gravestone — except you get to switch it on whenever you feel like it instead of waiting for the game. With it on, the mine lights start misbehaving and the ambient sound underground swaps to its eerie version, so the tunnels stop feeling like a workplace and start feeling like somewhere you shouldn't be. It sits on its own toggle inside the mod, so you can run a foggy night above ground and leave the mine completely normal, then flip the ghosts on later when the group is ready to go down there. Turning the mod off calms the mine back down.

Does everyone in the lobby get the same haunted night, or just the host?

Everyone gets the same night. In Wobbly Life multiplayer the host picks the hour, the fog thickness and both colours, and the whole session's island changes with them, so nobody is left standing in bright sunshine while the rest of you are filming a horror scene. Someone who joins partway through catches up on their own once they land on the island, which matters in public lobbies where people drop in and out mid-session. Because the host drives the look, the quickest way to change the night mid-session is to ask them to nudge the hour or the fog thickness in Haunted Night, and the whole island updates together rather than one wobbly at a time.

Can I control the hour and how thick the fog gets?

Yes — Haunted Night gives you a slider for each. Hour Of Night runs the whole clock from 0 to 23 and sits at 23 by default, which is late enough for proper darkness on Wobbly Life's island; drop it to 3 for the deadest, stillest part of the night. Fog Thickness runs from a light haze sitting on the water to a wall you can barely see the next house through. Fog Colour and Sky Colour are full colour pickers, defaulting to a sickly green-grey and a deep bruised purple — a dull red fog reads like a nightmare, while a near-black sky swallows the island and deep purple keeps the stars readable. They are live settings, so you can tune the look while standing in it.

Which other Wobbly Life mods pair with Haunted Night for a horror night?

Haunted Night sets the stage; the other Wobbly Life mods fill it. Outbreak! drops zombies into the fog, Ghost Protocol slides wobblies from solid to see-through to gone entirely, and Morph and Prop Possession let you become whatever is lurking in the dark. For filming, the camera mods do the heavy lifting: Film Drone for sweeping shots over the island, Roaming Lens for free-flying angles, Steady Shot for a locked-off angle you can walk straight into, and Through My Eyes for a first-person view of whatever is chasing you. Because Haunted Night holds the clock still, none of these get ruined by sunrise halfway through a take — the light stays exactly where you set it until you switch the mod off.

What options does Haunted Night include?

Darkness

How dark the night actually gets. The island's own night is brighter than you'd think - push this up and the moonlight drains away until you can only make out shapes.

Storm

Rolls in the island's thunderstorm with the rain and wind that come with it. Also what makes lightning visible - a clear sky has no bolt to draw.

Fog Thickness

How far you can see. Low is a light haze across the water, high is a wall of fog with the next house lost inside it.

Haunt The Island

Master switch. Turn it on for a permanent haunted night, turn it off and the island goes straight back to normal.

Sky Colour

The colour of the sky above the island. Deep purple keeps the stars readable; near black swallows everything.

Wake The Mine Ghosts

Turns the mine haunted: the lights start misbehaving and the sound down there turns eerie. This one only shows inside the mine, and only once somebody is down there.

Fog Colour

The colour of the fog. Sickly green is the classic; try a dull red for something closer to a nightmare.

Failing Street Lamps

How badly the island's street lamps are failing. Each lamp takes its own turn, so one flickers itself half to death down the road while the one beside you holds steady. At 0 they burn normally; at the top most of the street is in trouble.

Headlight Colour

The colour of every vehicle's headlights. All the island's cars share one set of beams, so they all change together.

Cloud Colour

The colour of the clouds hanging over the island. Dark grey turns a clear night overcast and heavy; the underside is shaded darker than the top so they read as weight rather than paint.

Moonlight Colour

The colour of the moonlight itself. This tints every outdoor shadow on the island at once, so it changes the look of a night more than anything else here.

Hour Of Night

What time to hold the clock at. 23 is late enough to be properly dark; try 3 for the deadest part of the night.

Every Light Is Red

Holds every junction on the island at red. Nothing ever gets a green light again. Turn it off and the traffic system picks straight back up.

Ghostly Townsfolk

Everyone who lives on the island turns into a see-through green ghost as they go about their night. You and your friends stay solid. Switch it off and the townsfolk are back to normal straight away.

Night Preset

Pick a ready-made night, then press Load Preset. Classic Haunt is the original sickly-green night. Blood Moon turns the whole island red under a crimson moon. Witching Hour is the pitch-black dead of night with the street lamps giving up. Toxic Fog buries the town in a wall of glowing green.

Load Preset

Loads the night you picked into every slider and colour below and turns the haunting on. Tweak anything afterwards and your changes stay. Storm, Lightning Strikes and the other switches stay exactly as you left them.

Lightning Strikes

Bolts come down near whoever is out in the open, every few seconds. Turn Storm on as well or there's nothing in the sky to strike with.

Indoor Light Colour

The colour of the lights inside every building on the island. Bright red by default, like something went very wrong in there; switch it to a sickly green for the classic haunted look.

Quick Answer

Haunted Night is a Wobbly Life mod from ProjectMods that holds the clock at any hour of night you pick, rolls thick fog across the island in the colour you choose, recolours the sky, and can wake the haunted mode hiding in the mine.

System Requirements

OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD equivalent
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD equivalent
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 4 GB available space

What features does Haunted Night include?

  • Freezes the clock at any hour from 0 to 23 and drains the light out of the night, so the island goes properly dark instead of dusk-blue
  • Rolls fog across the island on a thickness slider, from a light haze over the water to a wall that swallows the next house
  • Pick your own fog and sky colours — sickly green over bruised purple by default, dull red and near-black if you want a nightmare
  • Street lamps that fail like real ones — each on its own timing, so one browns out down the road while the one beside you holds
  • Recolour the light itself — the moon, every window on the island, and every car's headlights
  • Roll in the island's thunderstorm and have lightning come down near whoever is out in the open
  • Everyone in the lobby gets the same night at once, and switching it off restarts the clock, lifts the fog and calms the mine
  • Wake The Mine Ghosts turns the mine haunted: the lights misbehave and the sound down there turns eerie

Best For

  • Filming a horror short with friends and you need the light to stay put — the sun never comes up halfway through your best take
  • Running a hide and seek or manhunt round where thick fog and a dark sky do the hiding for you
  • Streaming a spooky night on the island and you want chat watching a fog wall instead of a sunny beach
  • Stacking it with Outbreak! for a zombie night, Ghost Protocol for see-through wobblies, and the camera mods to shoot the whole thing
  • Taking a group down the mine when it's already in its haunted mood, because normal mine trips stopped being scary a long time ago
