</>What does Fresh Corks (No Cooldowns) do?
There's always another armful of bottles to deal with, and too often the skill you want is still recharging. Fresh Corks takes the waiting out. No Skill Cooldowns makes a skill ready again as soon as it's finished. Skills that normally work once and then stay spent come back as well. Longer Skill Effects stretches anything that runs on a timer, Spot Matches' highlight for one, to Effect Length Percent of its usual length: 100 to 500, starting at 200. The two switches work alone or together. Turn one off and the game's own cooldowns or effect lengths return from the next skill you use.
</>What is Fresh Corks (No Cooldowns)?
Skills in Cellar Keeper run on timers: effects wear off, cooldowns count down, and some skills are gone after a single use. Fresh Corks gives you two switches for that, No Skill Cooldowns to hand skills straight back and Longer Skill Effects to stretch anything timed, with Effect Length Percent setting by how much. It never touches your skill levels or skill points.
</>Common questions about Fresh Corks (No Cooldowns)
What does Fresh Corks do in Cellar Keeper?
It keeps your skills coming. Use one and it's ready again as soon as it's done, and the ones that run for a while can be made to run longer, so the session goes on sorting bottles instead of waiting on a recharge.
Which skills does Longer Skill Effects change?
Only skills with an effect that runs for a while, like Spot Matches' highlight. Skills that do their job instantly have nothing to stretch, and at Effect Length Percent 100 even timed effects keep their usual length. The stretch is set once, as an effect begins, so a new percentage applies from your next use rather than to the effect already running.
Does Fresh Corks work in Speedrun or Hardcore?
Not on its own, because Cellar Keeper only lets you use skills in Cozy. House Rules' Skills In Speedrun opens them up in Speedrun, and Fresh Corks then works there as it does in Cozy; Hardcore has no skills even then. Mind the leaderboard, though. Leave either Fresh Corks switch on during a Speedrun or Hardcore run and that run is kept off the online board, even if you never use a skill, with a note in the game to tell you. Switch both off before starting a run you want to count.
What happens if I switch it off in the middle of a skill?
The skill carries on as it was. An effect that's already been stretched keeps its extra time, and the next one runs its normal length. With No Skill Cooldowns off, the next skill you finish goes into its usual cooldown, and a one-use skill you got back stays ready until you use it, then it's spent as normal.
I switched it on and nothing changed. Why?
You're probably not in a cellar yet. Fresh Corks only works while you're playing, which is why the launcher adds "It kicks in once you're playing a cellar" when you flip a switch from the menu. Load your save and the next skill you use is already affected.
What options does Fresh Corks (No Cooldowns) include?
Effect Length Percent
How long timed skills last while Longer Skill Effects is on: 200 is twice as long.
Longer Skill Effects
Skills with a timed effect last Effect Length Percent as long.
No Skill Cooldowns
Skills are ready again the moment they finish, with no cooldown.
Fresh Corks is a ProjectMods mod for Cellar Keeper that removes skill cooldowns, brings one-use skills back after every use, and can make timed skill effects last up to five times as long.
System Requirements
What features does Fresh Corks (No Cooldowns) include?
- No Skill Cooldowns trims each cooldown to a sliver and lets the game finish it off, so you still get the usual ready cue.
- A one-use skill is set back to ready right after you spend it, and your action bar shows it as ready again.
- Longer Skill Effects stretches an effect and its countdown together, so the time you see is the time you really have.
- Skill upgrades still count: Effect Length Percent multiplies whatever length your skill's level gives the effect.
Best For
- Spot Matches keeps fading before you've reached the last bottle it lit up. Switch on Longer Skill Effects at 300 and you get three times as long to collect them.
- Every armful comes off the floor in whatever order it lay there. With No Skill Cooldowns on, Sort is ready again for each new one.
- You play with Sommelier's Sort and its Spot Every Grape Match switch. Add Longer Skill Effects so the grape's outline stays up long enough to clear it in one go.
