</>What does Room To Grow do?
The worst moment in a Combolands run is finding an heirloom that would transform your city and realising every slot is already full of things you also want. Something has to go, and it is never an easy call. Room To Grow adds shelves. Press Add Heirloom Slot for another heirloom space, or Add Consumable Slot for another spell, paint or favour space. Press either as many times as you like and the panels expand to fit, laying themselves out properly as they grow. The new slots behave exactly like the ones the game gives you, so heirlooms placed in them trigger normally and consumables work as expected. It is the simplest kind of mod, and after one run with a few extra slots you will not want to go back. Pairs obviously with Heirloom Hoard and Potion Cabinet, which will happily fill everything you add.
</>What is Room To Grow?
Combolands only ever hands you so many heirloom and consumable slots, and sooner or later a run offers you something brilliant when every space is already spoken for. Room To Grow adds shelves: one press for another heirloom space, another for another spell, paint or favour space. The panels expand and lay themselves out properly as they grow, and the new slots behave exactly like the originals. Free on ProjectMods, a community-first PC mod manager for 400+ games.
</>Common questions about Room To Grow
What does Room To Grow do in Combolands?
Room To Grow adds extra storage slots to your Combolands shelves. Press Add Heirloom Slot for another heirloom space, or Add Consumable Slot for another spell, paint or favour space. Press either as many times as you like and the panels expand to fit, rearranging themselves so the shelf stays tidy no matter how many spaces you add. It solves the run's most annoying decision: finding something that would transform your city and having to bin something else you wanted to keep.
What is the difference between the two slot types?
Heirloom slots hold the permanent pieces in Combolands, the gems, tomes and other items that sit on your shelf and keep affecting the city for the rest of the run. Consumable slots hold the single-use half of your kit: spells, paints, building supplies and council favours. They are separate panels with separate limits, so a full consumables panel does not stop you picking up an heirloom. Room To Grow gives you a button for each, and the Shelves readout shows how many of each you currently have.
Do the extra slots work exactly like the ones the game gives you?
Yes. Heirlooms placed in slots added by Room To Grow trigger normally, and consumables stored in the extra spaces work exactly as expected when you use them in Combolands. There is no second-class shelf where things sit inert. That is what makes the mod feel invisible in play: after a run or two with a few extra spaces, the expanded panel just becomes the normal size of your kit, and going back to the base layout feels cramped.
How many times can I press the add slot buttons?
As many times as you want, though a handful is usually enough to remove the frustration without turning Combolands into a warehouse. The panels keep expanding and rearranging themselves to fit as you add slots, so the shelf stays easy to read however many you have. Adding two or three of each is the sweet spot for most players: enough that a good find never forces a painful cut, not so many that carrying capacity stops being part of the decision-making at all.
Which Combolands mods pair best with Room To Grow?
Heirloom Hoard and Potion Cabinet, obviously, since both will happily fill everything you add. Heirloom Hoard hands you any heirloom in the game and Potion Cabinet does the same for spells, paints, supplies and favours, and both will tell you straight away when there is no space left. Room To Grow is the answer to that message. Run all three and the storage side of a Combolands run simply stops being something you have to think about.

Room To Grow is a free Combolands mod from ProjectMods that adds extra heirloom and consumable slots, one press at a time, so a full shelf never forces you to bin something good.
