</>What does Diamond Pick (Dig Through Anything) do?
Mining is the heart of Core Keeper and also the bit that takes the longest, especially once you're through the early biomes and every wall takes a dozen swings. Diamond Pick gives you three separate dials so you can tune exactly how fast that goes. Mining Power decides how hard each hit lands, Swing Speed decides how quickly you can hit again, and Digging Power covers clearing ground rather than walls. Turn all three up and you carve corridors as fast as you can walk them. Brilliant for laying out a big base, cutting a straight line to somewhere far away, or clearing space for a farm without spending the evening on it. Works well alongside Motherlode if you'd like those walls to pay out better too.
</>What is Diamond Pick (Dig Through Anything)?
Diamond Pick, from ProjectMods, gives Core Keeper three mining dials instead of one. Mining Power sets how hard each hit lands, Swing Speed how quickly you can hit again, Digging Power how fast you clear ground. Ideal for laying out a big base or cutting a straight line somewhere far away.
</>Common questions about Diamond Pick (Dig Through Anything)
What does Diamond Pick do in Core Keeper?
Diamond Pick gives you three separate mining dials in Core Keeper: Mining Power, Swing Speed and Digging Power. Mining is the heart of the game and also the bit that takes the longest, especially once every wall takes a dozen swings. Turn all three up and you carve corridors about as fast as you can walk them — brilliant for laying out a big base or cutting a straight line to somewhere far away.
What's the difference between Mining Power and Digging Power?
Mining Power decides how hard each hit lands on walls and ore in Core Keeper, so it's the dial that matters when you're breaking through stone or clearing a vein. Digging Power covers clearing ground rather than walls — the floor work you do when levelling out space for a base or a farm. Swing Speed sits alongside both and decides how quickly you can hit again. Diamond Pick keeps them separate so you can tune each job on its own.
Do I still need better mining gear with Diamond Pick installed?
Your gear still matters — Diamond Pick raises what you can do with the pickaxe you're holding in Core Keeper rather than replacing progression. Upgrading still feels like an upgrade, you just aren't blocked by the swing count on a wall you've already earned the right to break. Keep the dials modest if you want mining to stay part of the game, or push them up when you have a specific build in mind and want the tunnelling done tonight.
Can I turn up just one of Diamond Pick's three dials?
Yes. Stronger Pick is the master switch, and underneath it Mining Power, Swing Speed and Digging Power are independent in Core Keeper. Raising Swing Speed on its own is a good place to start, because a faster rhythm makes mining feel better without changing how much stone actually stops you. If you'd rather leave walls alone entirely, push Digging Power instead and you get a big flat build site without touching how tough the rock is. Set the ones you want, leave the rest at normal, and flip the master switch off any time.
Which Core Keeper mods pair well with Diamond Pick?
Motherlode is the natural partner — Diamond Pick gets you through the walls quickly and Motherlode makes those walls pay out more ore, so a fast tunnelling run in Core Keeper actually fills your inventory. Ore Sense fits in front of both, showing you where the vein is before you start digging. Together they turn a mining trip from guesswork and swing counts into something you can plan and finish in an evening.

System Requirements
What features does Diamond Pick (Dig Through Anything) include?
- Splits mining into three dials: how hard each hit lands, how fast you swing, how quickly you clear ground
- Carves corridors about as fast as you can walk down them once all three are turned up
- Handles late-biome walls that normally soak up a dozen swings each before they give
- Tune each dial on its own, so you can speed up swings and leave raw power where it was
Best For
- Clearing a big rectangle of rock for a base layout you've already sketched out in your head
- Cutting a straight-line highway to a far-off biome instead of following whatever caves exist
- Flattening ground for a large farm without spending the entire evening on groundwork
- Late-game worlds where every wall is high-tier rock and digging has quietly become the bottleneck
- Builders who are here for the decorating and treat the tunnelling as setup work
