</>What does Fire Marshal do?

One forgotten pan and an Overcooked kitchen goes up like a bonfire. The fire spreads, it eats the counters you need, and by the time somebody finds the extinguisher the round is already gone. Fire Marshal gives you the button you always wanted. Press Put Out All Fires and every fire currently burning goes out at once, wherever it is, however far it has spread. It tells you how many you put out so you know the kitchen is actually clear. If you would rather the problem never started, switch on Fireproof Kitchen and nothing in the kitchen will catch alight at all. Anything that appears later in the level is covered too, so it holds up through the whole round. Turn it off and the kitchen goes back to being as flammable as ever.

</>What is Fire Marshal?

One forgotten pan and an Overcooked kitchen goes up like a bonfire. Fire Marshal gives you Put Out All Fires, a single press that douses every fire burning anywhere on the level, and a Fireproof Kitchen toggle so nothing catches alight in the first place. Ideal for the late-game kitchens where the extinguisher run costs you the round. A free mod from ProjectMods, the community-first PC mod manager for 400+ games.

</>Common questions about Fire Marshal

What does Fire Marshal do in Overcooked?

Fire Marshal gives you two ways to deal with kitchen fires in Overcooked. Put Out All Fires is a button that instantly extinguishes every fire currently burning anywhere on the level, however far the blaze has already spread, and it tells you how many it doused so you know the kitchen is genuinely clear. Fireproof Kitchen is a toggle that stops anything catching alight in the first place, so a forgotten pan can sit there without ever starting a blaze. Use the button as an emergency undo when a round is going wrong, or leave Fireproof Kitchen on for a kitchen that simply cannot burn.

What is the difference between Fireproof Kitchen and the Put Out All Fires button?

One is prevention, one is a rescue. Put Out All Fires is a one-shot action: press it and every fire burning in the Overcooked kitchen goes out immediately, wherever it is. It does nothing about the next pan you forget, so it works best as an emergency button you reach for when the round is still salvageable. Fireproof Kitchen is a standing setting instead. While it is on, nothing in the kitchen can catch alight at all, so no fire ever starts. You can run both together happily: Fireproof Kitchen as the safety net, and the button to clean up anything already burning when you switch it on.

Does Fireproof Kitchen still cover things that appear partway through an Overcooked level?

Yes. Plenty of Overcooked kitchens change shape while you are cooking. Counters slide in, whole sections of the level move or rotate, and new stations turn up mid-round. Fireproof Kitchen covers anything that shows up after the level has started, not just the pans and stations that were there when you loaded in, so protection holds for the entire round rather than quietly lapsing halfway through. That means the fireproof setting is genuinely reliable in the shifting late-game kitchens where fires are most likely to end a run, and you never have to re-apply it or wonder whether a new pan slipped through.

How do I know the fires are actually out after using Fire Marshal?

Fire Marshal reports back. When you press Put Out All Fires it tells you how many fires it just extinguished, which matters in Overcooked because a spreading blaze can easily be burning somewhere you cannot see from your chef's position. Behind a counter, on the far half of a split kitchen, or on a section that has rotated away. A count of zero means the kitchen really is clear. A count of five means the fire had spread further than you thought and you have just saved the round. Press it again any time; there is no cooldown and no limit on how often you use it.

Can I turn Fireproof Kitchen off if I want the danger back?

Yes, and the kitchen goes straight back to being as flammable as ever. Fireproof Kitchen is a plain toggle, so you can run the first few Overcooked worlds with it on while somebody learns the controls, then switch it off for a proper high-pressure run later. Nothing about your progress or your ratings changes when you flip it. You might well end up leaving Fireproof Kitchen off and just keeping the Put Out All Fires button handy instead. The tension of a burning kitchen stays intact, you just have a way out when a genuinely unlucky round is about to be wasted.
