</>What does Ocean Loot Controller do?
Raft's ocean spawning system has a mind of its own. Sometimes planks everywhere. Sometimes nothing for minutes. Sometimes you just want the ocean to cooperate for once. Ocean Loot Controller puts you in charge. Adjust spawn rates to get a constant stream of resources or slow things down for a challenge. Set minimum and maximum delays between spawns, control how far from your raft things appear, and cap the total number of floating objects. Want maximum chaos? Set both delays to 0.1 seconds and max count to unlimited. Your ocean will be a carpet of planks and barrels. Want a hardcore experience? Set the max to 5 items and space out the spawns. The instant spawn and clear buttons give you on-demand control. Need resources right now? Spawn them. Ocean too cluttered? Clear it. Simple. Warning: Very low spawn delays with no limits can absolutely crash your game. You've been warned. The ocean has limits even if you don't.
</>What is Ocean Loot Controller?
Raft's vanilla ocean spawn system feels random — sometimes planks everywhere, sometimes nothing for minutes. Ocean Loot Controller hands you the dial. Pick the exact item to spawn, the count per wave, the min/max delay between waves, and the distance from your raft. Run it as a constant resource stream for big builds, slow it down for hardcore runs, or hit the instant-spawn action for on-demand resources. The clear-ocean action wipes everything when the surface gets cluttered. Warning: 0.1-second delays with no max count can crash the game — the ocean has limits even if your settings don't. Built in-house by ProjectMods, the community-first game modding platform and desktop app.
</>Common questions about Ocean Loot Controller
What does Ocean Loot Controller do in Raft?
It puts you in charge of Raft's ocean item spawning. You pick which item to spawn from a dropdown (planks, barrels, plastic, anything in the game), set how many spawn at once (1-100), how often (min/max seconds between waves), and how far from your raft they appear (1-100 units). Toggle auto-spawn for a constant resource stream, or use the instant-spawn action for on-demand drops. There's also a clear-ocean action for cleaning up cluttered water. Built specifically for players who think Raft's RNG is too unpredictable for serious resource farming.
Can I farm specific resources fast with this mod?
Yes — that's the main use case. Pick the resource you want from the Ocean Item dropdown in Ocean Loot Controller (use Refresh List first if it's empty), set Spawn Count to something high like 50, set Item Spawn Time Gap to a short min/max range like 1-3 seconds, and your ocean fills with that exact resource on a steady drip. Useful for big build projects that need hundreds of planks, or recovery from a save where you accidentally chucked all your scrap. Pair Spawn Distance high if you want them to cluster away from the raft, or low for instant-grab convenience.
Will Ocean Loot Controller crash my game if I push it too hard?
It can. The mod ships with a warning: very low spawn delays combined with no max count will eventually overload Raft's physics and rendering, and the game can crash. Specifically, setting both min and max spawn time to 0.1 seconds with no item cap and 100 items per wave is a classic way to brick the session. Stay within reason — 5-10 items per wave at 1-3 second intervals is plenty for fast farming without performance issues. If you do crash, your save is fine; just relaunch and dial the values back.
Can I clear the ocean if it gets too cluttered?
Yes. Ocean Loot Controller has a clear-ocean action that wipes every spawned item floating around your raft. Useful when you've stress-tested aggressive spawn rates and the surface is now a carpet of planks, when you're filming and need a clean shot, or when performance has dipped from too many physics objects. The clear only affects items spawned by the mod's system, not items you've placed or stored on your raft. Combine with auto-spawn off for a fresh ocean, then re-enable for a controlled refill.
Does Ocean Loot Controller work in co-op multiplayer Raft?
Yes — host-side. Whoever runs the Raft session controls the ocean spawn settings, and the spawned items are visible and grabable by every player in the session. Other players don't need the mod installed. Useful for co-op build projects where one player runs the resource pipeline while teammates handle construction, or for chaos sessions where the host floods the ocean with random items for fun. Mods can behave differently across Raft patch states though, so test a short co-op session before relying on it during a long run.
