Street Cred puts your rank in your hands. Set an XP Amount and press Pocket The XP to add it, press Rank Up Now to reach your next rank exactly, or pick a rank above yours in Target Rank and press Jump To Rank to go straight there. Check My Rank pops up where you stand, right in the game, any time. It's the game's own XP, so every rank you reach unlocks what it normally would, like the shop items that need a higher rank, and it's saved with your game. Street Cred only ever adds XP, though, so it can't undo a jump. Your new rank pops up in the game right away, and the game's own rank-up screen, with everything you've unlocked, appears the next time you sleep. Ranks run from Street Rat through Hoodlum, Peddler, Hustler, Bagman, Enforcer, Shot Caller, Block Boss, Underlord and Baron to Kingpin, with five tiers in each, and once you hit Kingpin the tiers just keep counting. In co-op the crew shares one rank, so XP anyone adds counts for everyone. The prologue doesn't count XP; it starts once you reach Hyland Point.

The climb from Street Rat to Kingpin is a long one in Schedule I. Street Cred adds XP on demand: pocket a set amount, rank up one tier, or jump straight to any higher rank, right up to Kingpin. It's the game's own XP, so rank-locked shop items unlock as usual, your new rank pops up in the game at once, and the rank-up screen follows when you next sleep. Pocket The XP adds exactly the number in XP Amount, anywhere from 1 to 1,000,000, so it works for a small nudge or a huge boost. Rank Up Now adds just the XP you need for your next tier, for example Hustler II to Hustler III, no more and no less. Jump To Rank takes you straight to tier I of the rank you picked in Target Rank. If you're already there or past it, it adds nothing. Every one of them pops up your new rank in the game straight away.
Does Street Cred unlock rank-locked shop items in Schedule I?
Yes. Street Cred adds the game's own XP, so every rank you reach in Schedule I unlocks what it would if you'd earned it the long way, including shop items that need a higher rank, and the XP is saved with your game. Street Cred only ever adds XP, though, and has no button to take it away, so it can't undo a jump to Kingpin. If you'd rather keep some of the climb, go one tier at a time with Rank Up Now. In co-op the whole crew shares one rank: any player can add XP, and the host's game applies it for everyone.
Which ranks can Street Cred's Jump To Rank reach in Schedule I?
Any rank above the one you're on, right up to Kingpin. Street Cred's Target Rank list holds all 11 of Schedule I's ranks: Street Rat, Hoodlum, Peddler, Hustler, Bagman, Enforcer, Shot Caller, Block Boss, Underlord, Baron and Kingpin. The list starts on Kingpin, and Jump To Rank adds the XP to put you at tier I of the rank you pick. Every rank has five tiers, I to V, and once you reach Kingpin its tiers keep counting. For finer control, set XP Amount anywhere from 1 to 1,000,000, with 1,000 as the default, and press Pocket The XP as often as you like.
Why doesn't the Schedule I rank-up screen appear right after I use Street Cred?
Because Schedule I only shows its rank-up screen when you sleep, and Street Cred doesn't change that. The XP lands the moment you press a button, and Street Cred pops up your new rank in the game so you know it worked. If you pressed the button in the ProjectMods app, the pop-up waits until you switch back to the game. The game's own rank-up screen, listing everything you've unlocked, then appears the next time you sleep, just as it would after a normal day of earning XP. Press Check My Rank any time to see your rank, your XP and how much more you need. One more quirk: the prologue doesn't count XP, so Street Cred starts working once you reach Hyland Point.
