</>What does Motherlode do?
The mining site is a whole second game inside Zad Archery, with its own levels, its own upgrade tree and its own four ores. It is also where the most time goes for the least excitement. Motherlode fixes the pace. Pickaxe Speed decides how fast your automatic pickaxes swing. Twin Pickaxes doubles how many are working the rock at once. Fewer Swings Per Ore means each hit gets you closer to actually breaking something. Extra Ore Chance drops more than one piece from a single rock, and Ore Value Bonus makes each piece worth more when it lands. Gem Chance is the interesting one: the mine can drop monster gems, the same currency you normally have to fight for, and raising it turns a mining session into progress on your combat trees as well. Pair it with Clean Sweep so you are not walking over every piece you dig up.

What does Motherlode do in Zad Archery?
Motherlode fixes the pace of the mining site in Zad Archery. Mining is effectively a second game inside this one, with its own levels, its own upgrade tree and its own four ores, and it quietly eats more of an evening than anything else in here. Pickaxe Speed decides how fast your automatic pickaxes swing. Twin Pickaxes doubles how many are working the rock at once. Fewer Swings Per Ore takes swings off what each piece costs you. Extra Ore Chance drops more than one piece from a rock, Ore Value Bonus makes each piece worth more, and Gem Chance adds monster gems.
What does Twin Pickaxes actually double?
How many automatic pickaxes are working the rock at the same time in Zad Archery. Twin Pickaxes is Motherlode's plain switch rather than a slider, and it stacks with Pickaxe Speed, which controls how fast each of those pickaxes swings. The two together are the difference between watching a rock slowly give way and having it break while you were looking at something else. Because it doubles the number of swings happening rather than the size of each one, it pairs especially well with Fewer Swings Per Ore, which lowers what each piece of ore costs in the first place.
What does the Gem Chance slider do?
Gem Chance is Motherlode's interesting one. It raises how often the Zad Archery mine drops monster gems, which are the currency you would otherwise have to fight for, so mining stops being a side activity and starts making progress on your combat trees as well. Normally the two halves of the game are kept apart: monsters pay gems, rocks pay ore, and never the two together. Raise this slider and a quiet mining session funds jobs, crafting and the trees that eat gems. Deep Quiver tops those same wallets up directly if you would rather skip the digging entirely.
What is the difference between Fewer Swings Per Ore and Pickaxe Speed?
Pickaxe Speed changes how fast the swings happen in Zad Archery. Fewer Swings Per Ore changes how many of them you need. They sound similar and they compound: faster swings against a lower requirement is what turns the mine from a waiting game into a stream of ore. If you only want to raise one, Fewer Swings Per Ore tends to feel bigger early on, when each piece of ore costs a lot of hits, while Pickaxe Speed keeps mattering later. Motherlode's Extra Ore Chance and Ore Value Bonus then decide what each break is worth.
How does Motherlode pair with Clean Sweep?
Very well, because more ore means more things on the ground. Motherlode raises how much the Zad Archery mine gives you and how often it gives it, and Clean Sweep has a dedicated switch for hoovering up everything the mining site drops without walking over each piece. That pairing is the one most players settle on, since the mine is where the walking really adds up. Add Time Lapse if you want a mining session compressed further, and Deep Quiver if you would rather have the ore wallets filled directly than mined at speed.

System Requirements
What features does Motherlode include?
- Speeds up your automatic pickaxes and doubles how many of them are working the same rock at once.
- Cuts the number of swings each piece of ore costs you, so rocks actually break.
- Adds a chance for one rock to give more than one piece, and makes every piece worth more.
- Raises the chance the mine drops monster gems, the currency you would otherwise have to go and fight for.
- One master switch over the whole lot, so mining goes back to normal the moment you want it to.
Best For
- The mining site is where your whole evening quietly went and almost none of it was exciting.
- Players who need ore for the next upgrade tier but have no appetite for another session of swinging.
- Turning a mining stretch into progress on your combat trees too, because gems can come out of rocks.
- Running it with Clean Sweep so you are not jogging over every single piece you just dug up.
