</>What does Petty Cash (Money & Free Powers) do?
Powers cost money, and money in Better Chaos comes in a little at a time, one correctly shelved item after another. Petty Cash lets you skip the saving up. Set Amount anywhere from 1 to 1,000,000 (it starts at 500), then press Add Money to put that much in your wallet or Set Money To Amount to make it your exact balance. The launcher replies with your new total. Switch on Enabled for the other two settings: Earnings Multiplier pays 1.0 to 20.0 times the normal money for every item you shelve, in steps of 0.5 and starting at 2.0, and Free Powers lets you buy and upgrade powers in the powers menu without paying. Switch Enabled off and pay and prices go back to normal. Money already in your wallet stays, and so do the levels you bought. Any use of Petty Cash, even one press of either button with Enabled off, keeps the rest of that session off the global leaderboards, so restart the game before a run you want on the board.
</>What is Petty Cash (Money & Free Powers)?
Every power level in Better Chaos costs money, and the money comes in one shelved item at a time. Petty Cash cuts that short: Add Money and Set Money To Amount change your balance on the spot, Earnings Multiplier raises the pay for every item you shelve, and Free Powers skips the price in the powers menu. It all runs through the game's own wallet, so the HUD and your save stay in step, and items and shelves are never touched.
</>Common questions about Petty Cash (Money & Free Powers)
What does Petty Cash do in Better Chaos?
It pays for your powers. Every power in Better Chaos is bought with what you earn shelving items, and Petty Cash lets you add cash directly, earn it faster or stop paying for powers at all, so you can play with the powers you want from the first minute.
Why did Add Money give me more than Amount?
Enabled was on, and Earnings Multiplier boosts every payment into your wallet, the mod's own buttons included. With the multiplier at 2.0, Add Money at 500 adds 1,000. Set Money To Amount overshoots the same way when it's raising your balance, and with Free Powers on as well it can't lower your balance at all. For an exact figure, switch Enabled off, press the button, then switch it back on. The launcher's reply always shows the real total.
Can Free Powers take a power past its top level?
No, it only removes the price, so each power still stops at the top level the current map allows, exactly where the powers menu stops you anyway. If you'd rather set a level directly, or take one back down, Power Shopper does that without opening the menu.
Will the money stay in my save?
Yes, it's saved with the rest of your store the next time the game saves. Petty Cash pays in and out of the game's own wallet, so the balance is there when you load back in, and nothing is stored anywhere else. Switching the mod off leaves nothing to clean up.

System Requirements
What features does Petty Cash (Money & Free Powers) include?
- Add Money and Set Money To Amount work with Enabled off too, as long as you're in a store, and Set Money To Amount can take your balance down as well as up.
- Free Powers works on an empty wallet: the game never tells you that you can't afford a level, and your balance is the same after the purchase as before. It covers all six powers, from Run and Object taker to Item magnet.
- Earnings Multiplier only touches the money. Your combo builds exactly as it normally would.
Best For
- A fresh Map 3 save, 32,162 items ahead and no money for Run: set Amount to 5,000, press Add Money and buy a few levels before the first aisle.
- You like long combos and want them to pay: switch on Enabled with Earnings Multiplier at 5.0 and every correct placement earns five times over.
- You've decided on a challenge run with a tight budget. Switch Enabled off, set Amount to 100 and press Set Money To Amount.
