</>What does Tiny Shopper (Shrink or Grow) do?

Items in Better Chaos end up where a normal-sized shopper can't follow: under the bottom shelf, down the gap between two units, behind a display. Tiny Shopper lets you follow them. Switch on Enabled and Player Size sets how big you are, from 0.25 to 3.0 in steps of 0.05, with 1.0 as normal. It starts at 0.5, half height, which gets you under most of the shelving. Above 1.0 you grow tall enough to look over the aisles, as far as the roof lets you. Your size follows you into the next map for as long as Enabled stays on. Switch Enabled off and you're back to exactly your normal size.

</>What is Tiny Shopper (Shrink or Grow)?

Some items in Better Chaos roll where a full-sized shopper can't reach, and some aisles are easier to read from above. Tiny Shopper puts your size on a slider: switch on Enabled and pick a Player Size from 0.25 to 3.0. Small gets you underneath the shelving and into the gaps between units, big gets you a view across it. It never moves an item or touches your money.

</>Common questions about Tiny Shopper (Shrink or Grow)

What does Tiny Shopper do in Better Chaos?

It lets you shrink or grow whenever you like. Go small to slip under the shelving and reach items wedged in gaps, or go big to look out over the aisles and see where the mess is. The store stays exactly as it is; only you change.

Why did I stop growing before I reached my Player Size?

Because something was overhead. Above 1.0, Tiny Shopper keeps your eyes 25 cm below whatever is directly above you, usually the roof, so your view never ends up poking out of the store. Walk somewhere with more headroom and you grow the rest of the way, then shrink again under anything lower. It rechecks a few times a second and never takes you below your normal size.

Do I walk slower when I'm small?

No. Your walking speed and your jump stay exactly as they are at every size. At 0.25 you still cover ground at your usual pace, and a giant moves no faster than normal, so a bigger stride doesn't mean a quicker trip. For more speed at any size, add Aisle Sprinter's Walk Speed Multiplier.

What happens if I crouch while I'm resized?

Crouching still works and scales with you, so crouching at 0.5 makes you smaller still. While you're crouched, Tiny Shopper holds off: a new Player Size, or switching off, waits until you stand up, because the game's crouch is in charge of your height until then.

Why are my times off the leaderboards?

A different size can shorten a run, so Tiny Shopper counts the same as any other speed-up. While Enabled is on, at any Player Size, the rest of that game session stays off the global leaderboards. Setting the size back to 1.0 or switching off won't win the session back, so restart Better Chaos before a run you want on the board.

What options does Tiny Shopper (Shrink or Grow) include?

Player Size

1.0 is normal size. Below 1 you shrink and fit under shelves; above 1 you grow taller than the aisles, as far as the ceiling above you allows.

Enabled

Changes your size. Turn it off to go back to your normal size.

Quick Answer

Tiny Shopper is a ProjectMods mod for Better Chaos that changes your size, shrinking you to slip under shelves and into gaps or growing you tall enough to look over the aisles.

System Requirements

OS: Windows 10, 64-bit
Processor: Intel or AMD quad-core, 2.5 GHz
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti / at least 4 GB of VRAM
Storage: 5 GB available space

What features does Tiny Shopper (Shrink or Grow) include?

  • Your width scales with your height, so a small shopper fits through gaps a normal one can't, and a giant takes up more room too.
  • Changing Player Size or switching off eases you to the new size instead of snapping: a full grow from 1.0 to 3.0 takes about a second and a half.
  • Your feet stay planted while you resize, so growing never pushes you into the floor and shrinking never leaves you hanging in the air.
  • The height you can step up scales too: a giant walks straight up ledges you'd normally bump into, and a tiny shopper can be stopped by one you'd normally walk up.

Best For

  • An item has rolled under the bottom shelf, in plain sight and out of reach. Switch on Enabled at the default 0.5 and walk under after it.
  • Something is wedged between two shelf units: drop Player Size to 0.25 and squeeze down the gap.
  • Eagle eye has lit up the right shelf two aisles over. Grow to 2.0 and you can see the glow over the shelving and walk straight to it.
  • A change of pace on a map you know by heart: play it at 0.25 and every aisle turns into a canyon.
