</>What does Ghost Rambler (Fly & Walk Through Walls) do?

Sometimes you want to see the island the way the people who built it did - from above, all at once, with none of it in your way. Ghost Rambler lifts you off the ground and hands you the controls. WASD moves you the way you are looking, E or Space takes you up, Q or Ctrl brings you down, and holding Shift turns a gentle drift into real speed. Both speeds are yours to set. Leave the Noclip option on and nothing stops you - hillsides, buildings, the inside of the mountain. Turn it off and the scenery stays solid - you still fly, you just bump into things like normal, which is often nicer for filming. Switching it off puts you back on your feet properly, and if you stopped somewhere solid it lifts you out first instead of leaving you stuck in a rock. Only you fly, so your friends carry on walking as normal.

</>What is Ghost Rambler (Fly & Walk Through Walls)?

Ghost Rambler hands Big Walk's movement over to you: rise, drop and drift wherever the camera is looking, with a separate boost on Shift and both speeds adjustable. Leave Noclip on and hillsides, buildings and terrain stop blocking you; turn it off for a flight that still bumps into things. From ProjectMods, the PC mod manager for 400+ games.

</>Common questions about Ghost Rambler (Fly & Walk Through Walls)

What does Ghost Rambler do in Big Walk?

Ghost Rambler lifts you off the ground and hands you flight controls in Big Walk. The direction keys move you wherever the camera is looking, one key takes you up and another brings you down, and holding Shift swaps to a separate, faster speed — both speeds are yours to set. With Noclip switched on, scenery, buildings and terrain stop blocking you entirely; with it off you still fly, but the scenery stays solid and you bump into it like normal, which usually films better. Only you leave the ground, so your friends carry on walking the island normally while you drift above it.

What is the difference between Fly Speed and Boost Speed?

Fly Speed is your normal cruising pace and Boost Speed is what you get while holding Shift, and Ghost Rambler keeps them separate on purpose. A low cruise is much easier to film with, because slow, steady movement looks deliberate rather than jittery, while a high boost lets you cross Big Walk's island in one go when you just want to be somewhere else. A gentle cruise paired with an enormous boost covers both jobs at once: drift carefully around whatever you are looking at, then hold Shift and cover a valley in seconds. Both values can be adjusted while you are flying.

What happens if I switch Ghost Rambler off while inside a rock?

Ghost Rambler checks for that before it puts you back down. If you stop somewhere solid — inside a hillside, a building, or the middle of a mountain — switching the mod off lifts you clear first and then hands you back to normal footing and gravity, rather than dropping you into a rock and leaving you stuck. That is the main reason the Noclip option is safe to leave on while exploring Big Walk's island. If you would rather never be inside anything in the first place, turn Noclip off and fly with scenery still solid; you will bump into things like a normal player, just in mid-air.

Should I leave Noclip on or off?

Leave it on when you want to explore Big Walk without anything in the way — through hillsides, into the inside of the mountain, straight up through a roof to see what is on it. Turn it off when you are filming, because a flight that still bumps into things keeps you honest about where the island's surfaces actually are, and stops you accidentally drifting inside a wall mid-shot. Both modes use the same speed controls, so switching between them changes nothing else about how you move. The switch can be flipped at any point while you are already in the air.

Does flying in Ghost Rambler cause problems in a Big Walk session?

No — only you leave the ground. Your friends keep walking normally and nobody else needs the mod for the session to behave. Your flight speed also stays exactly the same whether you are playing solo or in a busy group, so a full session never makes you drift faster or slower than you set. It is handy for scouting ahead and reporting back, for seeing the island from above the way the people who built it did, or for catching up after wandering off. Switch it off and you land back on your feet properly, ready to carry on walking with everyone else.

What options does Ghost Rambler (Fly & Walk Through Walls) include?

Fly Speed

How fast you drift along. Lower is calmer and much easier to film with.

Noclip

Lets you pass straight through scenery. Turn this off for a flight that still bumps into things.

Fly Enabled

Master switch. Lifts you off the ground and hands you the flight controls.

Boost Speed

How fast you go while holding Shift. Use this to cross the island in one go.

Quick Answer

Ghost Rambler lifts you off the ground in Big Walk so you can fly at your own pace, with separate cruise and boost speeds you set yourself, and it can let you pass straight through scenery. It comes from ProjectMods, the community-first PC mod manager for 400+ games.

Processor: Intel Core i7-7700K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X

What features does Ghost Rambler (Fly & Walk Through Walls) include?

  • Lifts you off the ground and moves you the way the camera is looking, with rise and drop on their own keys.
  • Adds a separate boost speed on Shift, so you can drift gently for filming or cross the island in one run.
  • Passes you straight through hillsides and buildings, or turn Noclip off for a flight that still bumps into things.
  • Sets you back on your feet properly afterwards, lifting you clear first if you stopped somewhere solid.
  • Flies at the same speed solo or in a full session, and only you leave the ground - your friends carry on walking.

Best For

  • Scouting the route from above after the group has spent ten minutes arguing about which way round the lake to go.
  • Creators shooting a slow drifting flyover, with Noclip turned off so the camera behaves like a camera.
  • Getting a proper look at the parts of the island the walking route never quite takes you past.
  • Fetching the friend who has wedged themselves somewhere they cannot walk out of, without the twenty minute hike.
  • Seeing what is inside the mountain, because somebody in the group was always going to ask.
