</>What does Paper Planes (Gunner Damage) do?
Your gunners in Bomber Crew are good, but a veteran fighter can soak up a lot of bullets while it chews through your tail. Paper Planes tips the balance. Set a Damage Multiplier and every round your turrets land hits that much harder, so dogfights end in seconds and aces stop being a ten-minute slugging match. Flip One Shot Kills and anything your gunners touch comes apart on the first hit, V1 rockets included. Kills still count for XP, stats and achievements because it's still your crew pulling the trigger. Only your own guns are affected. Enemy fire, flak and friendly Spitfires all stay exactly as they were.

</>Common questions about Paper Planes (Gunner Damage)
What does Paper Planes do in Bomber Crew?
Paper Planes makes your gunners hit harder in Bomber Crew. Set the Damage Multiplier slider and every round your turrets land does that many times its normal damage, so a dogfight that used to drag on for minutes ends in a few bursts and a veteran ace stops soaking up half your ammunition. Flip One Shot Kills and anything your gunners hit is destroyed on the first hit, whether it is a fighter, an ace or a V1 flying bomb. Kills still count toward crew experience, stats and achievements, because it is still your crew pulling the trigger. Only your own guns are affected. It is a free-tier mod from ProjectMods, the community-first PC mod manager for 400+ games.
How does the Damage Multiplier work, and what does 1.0 mean?
The Damage Multiplier in Paper Planes starts at 1.0, which is exactly the normal Bomber Crew game, and goes up from there. At 2.0 your gunners do double damage, so most fighters go down in half the bursts; around 3.0 to 5.0 even the tough veteran aces fold quickly; and the higher you push it, the closer you get to one-shotting everything anyway. It is a slider rather than a fixed setting so you can find the balance you like: a modest bump that keeps dogfights tense but shorter, or a big one that turns the turrets into a buzzsaw. Adjust it whenever you like from the ProjectMods launcher, between missions or when a fight is going badly.
Does One Shot Kills work on aces and V1 rockets?
Yes. One Shot Kills in Paper Planes applies to anything your gunners can hit in Bomber Crew, and that includes the named enemy aces that normally take a long, brutal slugging match to bring down, and the V1 flying bombs you are sent to shoot down in the later missions. The first hit from any turret destroys the target outright. When One Shot Kills is on, the Damage Multiplier is ignored, because there is nothing left to multiply. Your gunners still need to aim and the target still needs to be tagged, so Eagle Eyes, the ProjectMods auto-tagging mod, is a natural partner: it marks the fighters the instant they appear and Paper Planes removes them the instant the turrets connect.
Does Paper Planes change enemy fire or the friendly Spitfires?
No. Paper Planes only boosts the damage done by your own bomber's gun turrets in Bomber Crew. Enemy fighters and aces still hit you exactly as hard as they always did, flak bursts do their normal damage, and the friendly Spitfires your radio operator calls in fight at their usual strength rather than getting the multiplier. That keeps the mod feeling like an upgrade to your crew rather than a rewrite of the whole war. If you want the incoming fire dealt with as well, Quiet Guns Below silences the flak and Nine Lives Crew protects the crew, while Paper Planes handles the part where the Luftwaffe goes home in pieces.
Do kills made with Paper Planes still count for XP and achievements?
They do. Paper Planes only changes how much damage each hit does in Bomber Crew; the kill itself is still scored by the game as a kill by the gunner who fired the shot. That means every fighter your turrets bring down still pays out experience to that gunner's skills, still adds to their kill tally and ace count, and still ticks toward the kill-based achievements in the same way as a kill at normal damage. Players use this to level up a fresh gunner quickly, to push for the high-kill-count achievements without a thirty-mission grind, or simply to make a max-intel campaign's veteran fighters fun again instead of a chore.
What options does Paper Planes (Gunner Damage) include?
One Shot Kills
Anything your gunners hit is destroyed on the first hit. Overrides the multiplier.
Damage Multiplier
How much harder your gunners hit. 1.0 is the normal game.
Paper Planes is a free-tier ProjectMods mod for Bomber Crew that multiplies the damage your gunners deal with a slider, or switches on One Shot Kills so any fighter, ace or V1 rocket your turrets hit is destroyed instantly.
System Requirements
What features does Paper Planes (Gunner Damage) include?
- Multiplies the damage every turret round lands with the Damage Multiplier slider, from a little extra punch to absurd
- Destroys fighters, aces and V1 rockets on the very first hit when One Shot Kills is on
- Counts every kill for XP, stats and achievements, since it's still your crew pulling the trigger
- Affects only your own guns, so enemy fire, flak and friendly Spitfires all stay exactly as they were
- Ends ten-minute ace slugging matches in seconds without changing how the fighters come at you
Best For
- Players whose veteran-tier fighters soak a whole belt while chewing straight through the tail section
- Anyone who wants V1 rocket intercepts to be a quick burst instead of a nail-biting chase across the map
- Crew levellers who want faster kills so the gunners rack up XP without reaching for Veteran Squadron
- Streamers who want every dogfight to end with a satisfying explosion on the first burst
- Players who set a mild 1.5x multiplier just to take the edge off late-campaign aces without going full silly
