</>What does Sprint Shift do?
Carpet washing is a lot of walking. Back to the tap, over to the rack, around the rug to reach the far corner, then all the way back again. Sprint Shift turns that shuffle into a proper stride so more of your run is spent scrubbing and less of it is spent crossing the floor. You get two separate dials. Walk Speed Multiplier sets your everyday pace, and Sprint Speed Multiplier sets how quickly you cover ground when you're sprinting, so you can keep a comfortable, controlled walk for lining up on a rug and save the real pace for the long trips. Both go from 1x up to 8x and adjust live, so you can nudge them mid-run until the shop feels the right size. It's a single master switch away from normal at any moment. Flip Enable Speed Boost off and your walk and sprint drop straight back to exactly what they were, no restart needed. Great for beating the meteor countdown on a big rug, for cleaning up the last few stains before time runs out, or just for anyone who thinks the walk from one side of the shop to the other takes a beat too long.
</>What is Sprint Shift?
A carpet cleaning shift involves a surprising amount of walking, and every second spent crossing the floor is a second you are not cleaning. Sprint Shift gives you two separate dials, one for your everyday walking speed and one for your sprint, both running from normal up to eight times and both adjustable while you play. Flip the master switch off and you are back to normal instantly. A free mod from ProjectMods, the community-first mod manager for 400+ PC games.
</>Common questions about Sprint Shift
What does Sprint Shift do in Carpet Cleaning Simulator?
Sprint Shift makes you move around the shop faster in Carpet Cleaning Simulator. You get two separate dials: one sets your everyday walking speed, the other sets your sprint speed. Both run from normal up to eight times, and both adjust live, so you can nudge them mid-shift until the shop feels the right size. Carpet washing turns out to involve a surprising amount of walking, and this turns that shuffle into a proper stride so more of your run goes on scrubbing.
Why are walking and sprinting on separate dials?
Because they do different jobs in Carpet Cleaning Simulator. Your walking pace matters when you are lining up on a rug, easing along an edge or making small adjustments, and a walk that is too quick makes precise work fiddly. Sprinting is for the long crossings, tap to rack or one side of the shop to the other, where speed is the only thing you want. Keeping them separate lets you have a comfortable, controlled walk and a genuinely fast sprint at the same time, rather than compromising on one number that has to cover both.
How fast can I actually go?
Both dials run from one, which leaves your speed untouched, up to eight times normal. Two is where both dials start you off, noticeably brisker without making the shop feel like a corridor. Three or four on the sprint dial makes the long trips genuinely quick while leaving you in control. Right at the top, eight is fast enough that the far wall arrives before you have thought about stopping, which is entertaining but takes some getting used to when you need to pull up somewhere precise. Both dials adjust live, so it costs nothing to experiment mid-run.
Can I switch back to normal speed without restarting?
Yes. There is a master switch, and turning it off drops your walking and sprint speed in Carpet Cleaning Simulator straight back to exactly what they were, with no restart and no reload. The dials themselves also work live, so you can lower them gradually rather than flipping the switch if you would rather ease back. That is worth knowing because the ideal speed changes during a shift: quick while you are fetching and setting up, normal while you are working carefully along the edge of a rug.
How much difference does this make against the meteor countdown?
More than it sounds. A Carpet Cleaning Simulator shift is capped by the countdown, not by how much carpet there is, so every second spent crossing the floor is a second you are not cleaning. Cutting travel time down means more stains dealt with before the meteor arrives, which usually means a bigger payout too. It is most noticeable on the big rugs, where you are constantly moving between the water, the carpet and the drying spot. Pair Sprint Shift with Long Arms and the walking stops being the thing that limits what you finish.
What options does Sprint Shift include?
Sprint Speed Multiplier
How much quicker you go while sprinting. Crank it for the long trips across the shop.
Walk Speed Multiplier
How much quicker your normal walking is. 2 is double, 1 leaves it untouched.
Enable Speed Boost
Master switch. Turn it off and you go straight back to your normal pace.
Sprint Shift speeds up how you move around the shop in Carpet Cleaning Simulator, with one dial for your normal walk and another for your sprint. It is a free mod from ProjectMods, the community-first PC mod manager for 400+ games.
