What does Pin Money do in Dressmaker?
Pin Money puts you in charge of the gold in your Dressmaker purse. How much gold can Pin Money add at once?
Up to 1,000,000 gold per press. Pin Money's Gold Amount can be set anywhere from 1 to 1,000,000, starting at 5,000, and Add Gold drops that much into your Dressmaker purse at once. The gold counter at the top of the screen counts up to the new total, the game saves, and a notification tells you how much was added and your new total. Press Add Gold again to stack another top-up, up to the purse's limit of about 2.1 billion gold. Reset Gold does the opposite, emptying your purse to 0 with the counter showing the drop.
What does Shop For Free do in Pin Money?
While it's on, buying any fabric or accessory in the Dressmaker shop costs nothing. With Pin Money's Shop For Free switch on, the Buy button shows a price of 0, and the purchase goes through exactly as normal, landing in your inventory sidebar with the usual buy sound and effect, while your gold doesn't change. You can even buy with an empty purse. It covers everything the shop currently sells but doesn't add anything new to it, so fabrics and accessories tied to a higher Prestige rank still unlock as you rank up. Turn the switch off and normal prices return straight away. It's the easy way to design the dress you actually want rather than the one your purse can stretch to.
Does Shop For Free change what my dresses sell for?
No, it only affects buying. Pin Money's Shop For Free switch makes fabric and accessories cost nothing in the Dressmaker shop, but what your dresses sell for stays the same, because the sale summary still counts materials at their real price. So a dress made from fabric you bought for 0 gold still sells for its usual Sell Price. If you'd like dresses to sell for more, that's a job for Haute Couture, another ProjectMods mod for Dressmaker, whose Dress Sale Price slider multiplies what you get for every dress you sell.
Can Pin Money help if I run out of gold mid-commission?
Yes, that's exactly the spot it's made for. Running out of gold partway through a commission and getting stuck is a common complaint on the Dressmaker Steam forums, since you need gold to buy the fabric and accessories a dress calls for. With your save loaded, set a Gold Amount in Pin Money and press Add Gold, and the gold is in your purse straight away.
