What happens if I lower my Prestige rank with Talk of the Town?
Your rank simply changes, with no celebration, and everything you've unlocked stays unlocked. Setting a lower Target Rank in Talk of the Town and pressing Jump To Rank drops your Dressmaker Prestige to exactly that rank, but every fabric and accessory you already had access to stays available in the shop. That makes it easy to start a fresh climb for the fun of it, or to set a save back to an earlier title without losing your favourite materials. Your Prestige Bonus on dress sales does drop with the rank, since it's worth +1% per rank.
How does Target Rank work in Talk of the Town?
Target Rank sets the exact Prestige rank that Jump To Rank takes you to. In Talk of the Town for Dressmaker it's a number from 0 to 50 that starts at 50, where 0 is Unknown and 50 is Grandmaster. The titles run Unknown, Novice, Apprentice, Journeyman, Respected, Professional, Renowned, Revered, Illustrious and Master, each in tiers I to V, then Grandmaster at 50. Set the number, press Jump To Rank, and a notification names your new rank and title. If you're already on that rank, nothing changes. For smaller steps, Rank Up One Level adds one rank per press, keeping your progress toward the next rank.
