</>What does Open For Business do?
Duck Life 8's shops only show you what they think you are ready for. The good weapons and the nicer costumes stay off the shelf until your average level catches up, so half the catalogue is invisible for most of a run. Open For Business puts all of it out on display. Walk into the weapon shop, the armour shop or the costume shop and the full range is there to browse and buy. You still pay for everything, so this pairs naturally with Coin Vault or Coin Magnet if you want to actually afford the top shelf. Turn the switch off and the shops go straight back to their normal stock rules.

</>Common questions about Open For Business
What does Open For Business do in Duck Life 8: Adventure?
Open For Business puts the full shop catalogue on the shelves in Duck Life 8: Adventure from the moment you switch it on. Normally shops only display what they think your duck is ready for, so the better weapons and the nicer costumes stay hidden until your average level catches up, and half the catalogue is invisible for most of a run. With the switch on, the weapon shop, the armour shop and the costume shop all show their complete range to browse and buy. You still pay for everything, and turning the switch off restores the normal stock rules.
Do I still have to pay for the extra stock?
Yes. Open For Business changes what Duck Life 8: Adventure puts on the shelves, not what it costs, so every item is still bought with coins at its usual price. That is why it pairs so naturally with Coin Vault or Coin Magnet from ProjectMods: one opens the catalogue, the other makes the top shelf affordable. On its own it works as a gentler version of the same idea, letting you see and slowly save for the gear that would otherwise be hidden, which some players prefer because shopping still feels like a decision rather than a shopping list.
Why is a shop I am already standing in showing its old stock?
Shops in Duck Life 8: Adventure lay out their shelves as you walk in, so a shop you were already inside when you flipped the switch keeps the stock it opened with. Step outside, step back in, and the full range is there. This is the one bit of housekeeping the mod asks of you, and it is worth knowing before you decide the switch is not working. The same applies in reverse when you turn Open For Business off: the shop you are standing in keeps what it has until you leave and return, then goes back to normal level-gated stock.
What do the Items On The Shelves and Diagnose options tell me?
Open For Business gives you two readouts. Items On The Shelves is a live count of how many pieces the Duck Life 8: Adventure shops will put out for you, so you can confirm at a glance that the switch is doing its job. Diagnose goes further: press it and it counts what is actually on the shelves right now, then breaks that down into what you already own, what you cannot yet afford, and what you can buy today. It also saves a copy into your ProjectMods folder. Between the two you can tell the difference between a shop hiding stock and a shop you have simply bought out.
Why does the shop say SOLD OUT on so many items?
SOLD OUT in Duck Life 8: Adventure means you already own that piece, not that the shop has run dry. So if you granted yourself the wardrobe first with Wardrobe Raid or Treasure Chest, most of the shop will read sold out once Open For Business puts the full range on display, because it genuinely is all in your bag already. If you want the shopping experience rather than the collection, use Open For Business first, buy your way through the catalogue, and save the wardrobe mods for the pieces you never get round to.
