</>What does Ghost Chef (Walk Through Anything) do?
PlateUp! kitchens get tight. You end up wedged behind a colleague, shuffling around a counter the long way while the order you needed thirty seconds ago goes cold. Ghost Chef removes the traffic jam. Switch it on and your chef passes straight through counters, walls and everyone else in the kitchen, so you always take the direct line. It only affects your own chef, so nobody else's night changes. Turn it off and everything goes solid again exactly as it was.

</>Common questions about Ghost Chef (Walk Through Anything)
What does Ghost Chef (Walk Through Anything) do in PlateUp!?
Ghost Chef lets your PlateUp! cook walk straight through counters, walls and other chefs instead of squeezing around them. In a cramped kitchen most of your shift disappears into walking the long way round something, and that is exactly the time this gives back - you take the direct line between where you are and where you need to be, every single time. It affects only your own chef, so nobody else's night changes. Turn the switch off and everything goes solid again exactly as it was, mid-service if you like.
What exactly can I walk through with Ghost Chef?
Counters, walls and other chefs. That covers the three things that actually cost you time in a PlateUp! kitchen: the counter you have to walk the long way around, the wall between you and the bin, and the teammate standing in the doorway at the worst possible moment. You still pick things up, put things down and use appliances exactly as normal - passing through something is about movement, not about ignoring the kitchen. The effect is on the whole time the switch is on, so there is nothing to hold down and nothing to time.
Can I fly or hover with Ghost Chef?
No - Ghost Chef is not a flight mod, and PlateUp! will not let it be one. The game keeps your chef on the floor at all times, so there is no way to lift off, hover over the counters or drop through the floor. What Ghost Chef changes is what stops you at ground level: counters, walls and other chefs simply are not in your way any more, so you walk the straight line between where you are and where you need to be. If you were hoping to look down on your restaurant from above, that is not what this does.
Does Ghost Chef affect my teammates as well?
No. It is your chef only - you pass through them, they do not pass through anything. That is usually what you want in co-op, because one person taking direct lines is a quiet advantage while everyone drifting through walls turns the kitchen into chaos. Like the rest of our PlateUp! mods it works when you are playing solo or hosting the kitchen yourself, so your own restaurant is where it behaves most reliably. Nobody else has to install anything or change the way they play. The switch is instant either way.
When is Ghost Chef most useful in PlateUp!?
Cramped layouts and busy four-player nights. The moment a kitchen has a long counter down the middle, half your shift becomes walking around it, and Ghost Chef deletes that walk. It is also the fix for the co-op pile-up at the pass, where two chefs meet head-on carrying plates and both lose two seconds to shuffling. Some players use it while planning as well - walking straight through a half-built layout tells you quickly whether the room actually flows before you commit a real run to it. One switch turns it off when you want the solid version back.
