</>What does Clear Head do?
Chopping, mining, crafting, autopsies, fighting and plain old exhaustion all feed the Insanity meter sitting next to your Energy bar. The fuller it gets, the lower your Energy ceiling drops, and when it finally tops out the game simply stops letting you work. You put the axe down and go and do something else, whether you wanted to or not. Clear Head cuts that off at the source. Switch on Never Build Up Insanity and the meter simply stops filling, no matter how long the shift runs. Everything that brings it back down still works exactly as it always did, so food, rest and story moments carry on untouched. Already sitting at the wrong end of the bar? Press Clear My Head and your Insanity drops to zero on the spot, and you get told the real before and after numbers so you can see it land. Load your save first, though. There is nothing to clear from the main menu. Turn the mod off and the graveyard goes straight back to normal. Nothing is left behind, and the job starts wearing you down again exactly the way it was designed to.
</>What is Clear Head?
Every swing, dig and autopsy in Graveyard Keeper 2 winds you up, and a full Insanity meter shrinks your Energy ceiling until the game stops letting you work at all. Clear Head stops that buildup at the source and adds a button that drops your Insanity back to zero on the spot, reporting the real before and after numbers. Free mod from ProjectMods.
</>Common questions about Clear Head
What does Clear Head do in Graveyard Keeper 2?
Clear Head stops your Insanity meter filling up in Graveyard Keeper 2. Chopping, mining, crafting, autopsies, fighting and plain exhaustion all feed Insanity normally, and the fuller it gets the lower your Energy ceiling drops, until it tops out and the game simply stops letting you work. Switch on Never Build Up Insanity and the meter simply stops filling, however long the shift runs. Everything that brings it back down still works exactly as before, so food, rest and story moments are untouched. Turn the mod off and the job starts wearing you down again as designed.
What does the Clear My Head button do?
Clear My Head drops your Insanity back to nothing on the spot, rather than waiting for the buildup to drain away. It then tells you the real before and after numbers, so you can see it land instead of guessing whether the press did anything. Two things have to be true first: you need a loaded Graveyard Keeper 2 save, since there is nothing to clear from the main menu, and the master switch has to be on. It is the button Clear Head gives you for loading an old save that is already sitting at the wrong end of the bar.
Does Clear Head change my Energy as well?
No. Clear Head removes the thing that was shrinking your Energy ceiling, but Energy itself still drains from work and still refills from food and sleep exactly as Graveyard Keeper 2 intends. What changes is that your ceiling stops sliding downwards over a long shift, so the full bar you see is the full bar you actually get. If you want the Energy pool itself topped up so work never stops at all, that is Graveyard Shift, a separate mod in the ProjectMods catalogue. The two run happily side by side and cover different halves of the same problem.
Does Never Build Up Insanity stop food and rest working?
No, and that is the point of how it is built. Never Build Up Insanity only blocks things from adding to your Insanity in Graveyard Keeper 2. Everything that calms you back down carries on untouched, so meals, sleep and story beats all behave exactly as they always did. That means you can leave the switch on for a whole run without quietly breaking the systems around it, and you can turn it off mid-session to go back to normal. Clear Head is deliberately one-directional: it removes the wind-up, it does not rewrite how you recover.
What happens to my save when I turn Clear Head off?
Nothing is left behind. Clear Head works while it is running and the graveyard goes straight back to normal the moment you switch it off, with the job wearing you down again exactly the way Graveyard Keeper 2 designed it. Insanity simply starts filling again from wherever it currently sits. That makes it safe to use for a single heavy session, say a long dig or a run of autopsies, and then switch off for the rest of your playthrough. You can also leave the master switch on and use Clear My Head on its own whenever you need a reset.
What options does Clear Head include?
Clear My Head
Drops you back to a completely clear head right now, and tells you the real before and after numbers. Load your save first, and make sure the master switch is on.
Enabled
Master switch for Clear Head. Turn it off and the job starts wearing you down again exactly as normal.
Never Build Up Insanity
Nothing winds you up any more, however long you keep working. Anything that calms you back down still works as normal, so food and rest are untouched. Needs the master switch on as well.
Clear Head is a free Graveyard Keeper 2 mod from ProjectMods that stops your Insanity meter filling while you work, and clears whatever you have already built up with a single press.
