Put Them Back removes only the Life Cells and Energy Cells that Heart of the Forest added since you started Ori and the Will of the Wisps this time. Cells you found yourself in the world are never touched. The mod only remembers its own additions until you quit the game or switch saves, so after a restart or loading a different save there's nothing left for Put Them Back to remove, and the cells it added earlier simply stay on your save. If you're experimenting, decide whether to keep the extra cells before you quit or load another save.
How many cells can I add at once with Heart of the Forest?
In Heart of the Forest, How Many Cells runs from 1 to 20 and starts at 1, and it sets how many cells each Add button gives. With How Many Cells at 5, one press of Add Life Cells adds five Life Cells and one press of Add Energy Cells adds five Energy Cells in Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
