Nothing ends a PlateUp! run faster than fire. You look away for a moment, a pan goes up, and suddenly half the kitchen is unusable while the orders keep coming. Sprinkler System puts every fire out the instant it starts, so the flames vanish properly and the appliance underneath goes right back to work. There is also a button to clear everything that is already burning, for when you switch it on halfway through a very bad night. You can still burn food - this is about the kitchen not going up with it.

What does Sprinkler System (Fireproof Kitchen) do in PlateUp!?

Fire is the run-ender nobody sees coming - one moment of not watching a pan and the whole kitchen is a write-off with orders still landing - and this takes that ending off the table. The flames go out and the appliance underneath goes straight back to work, so a burnt pan costs you one dish rather than the night. Turn on Fireproof Kitchen and it covers every fire from then on; Put Out Fires Now clears anything already burning if you switch it on halfway through a bad service.
Does Sprinkler System stop food burning too?
No - you can still burn food, and that is deliberate. Sprinkler System is about the kitchen not going up with it. Leave a pan too long and the dish is still ruined exactly as it always was; what changes is that the ruined dish does not set fire to the station, spread across the kitchen and take the run with it. So the cooking still has consequences, they are just contained. If you want the burning itself to be less likely in the first place, Mise En Place gets you back to the hob sooner by finishing the other jobs faster.
What does the Put Out Fires Now button do?
It clears everything currently on fire in one press. The automatic option only handles fires from the moment you switch it on, so if you turn the mod on mid-disaster there can already be half a kitchen burning - that is what the button is for. Press it and the existing flames go out, the appliances underneath come back, and you carry on with the day. It is also useful if you prefer to play with fire as a real threat and only want a bail-out on the nights where one bad pan is about to end a fifteen-day run.
Do appliances still work after a fire has been put out?
Yes. The flames are cleared properly rather than just hidden, so the hob, fryer or counter underneath goes straight back to being usable and you can carry on cooking on it in the same service. That is the difference between a contained fire and a lost station: normally a fire spreading through a PlateUp! kitchen leaves you cooking around a hole in your layout for the rest of the night. With Sprinkler System the layout you built is the layout you keep, which matters most in the late days when every station is doing a job.
Does Sprinkler System put out fires if I am not the host?
No. Fires are part of the restaurant simulation, and PlateUp! runs that on the host's machine. Sprinkler System takes effect in single-player and when you are hosting the lobby; as a guest in someone else's game their fires behave normally and your copy cannot touch them. Host the night yourself and the whole kitchen is covered, which is the version most co-op groups want anyway - fire is a shared problem, and one person having a fireproof kitchen would be an odd way to solve it. Same story for our other PlateUp! mods that change the restaurant itself.
