</>What does Clean Record do?
Valheim 1.0 added 53 achievements and, alongside them, a quiet rule: if the game decides you've had a helping hand, it stops counting them. It never tells you. You just play for six hours and notice nothing arrived. Three things set it off. Valheim's own console — the one everybody opens at least once to get a cart out of a boulder. Items spawned through that console, which get quietly marked, and the mark spreads: put a marked item in a chest and the chest carries it, cook with it and the meal carries it, build with it and the hall keeps it. And other mods, because Valheim asks them to announce themselves and plenty of them politely do, which is enough on its own. Clean Record switches the whole judgement off. Achievements keep counting, items stop being marked, and nothing spreads into your chests, your cooking or your hall. Worth saying plainly: ProjectMods mods don't set this off by themselves, so if ours are the only ones you run, you don't strictly need this. It's here for the far more common setup — a few of ours, a few from elsewhere, and the occasional console command when the map eats your cart. Press Check My Record any time to see exactly where you stand.
</>What is Clean Record?
Valheim 1.0 quietly stops awarding achievements once it decides your game has had a helping hand, whether from the built-in console, items spawned through it, or other mods announcing themselves. It never tells you. Clean Record switches that judgement off so all 53 keep counting. Free tier on ProjectMods, the community-first PC mod manager.
</>Common questions about Clean Record
What does Clean Record do in Valheim?
Clean Record stops Valheim switching your achievements off behind your back. Valheim 1.0 added 53 achievements and, alongside them, a quiet rule: if the game decides your run has had a helping hand, it stops counting them and never says a word about it. You play for six hours and notice nothing arrived. Clean Record turns that judgement off, so achievements keep counting normally, items stop being marked, and nothing spreads into your chests, your cooking or your hall. There is also a Check My Record button that tells you plainly where you stand. Free tier on ProjectMods, the community-first PC mod manager.
What actually makes Valheim 1.0 stop awarding achievements?
Three things set it off. First, using Valheim's built-in console, the one nearly everybody has opened at least once to get unstuck from terrain. Second, items spawned through that console, which get quietly marked, and the mark travels. Third, other mods, because Valheim asks mods to announce themselves and plenty of them politely do, which is enough on its own. Any one of the three is sufficient, and the game gives you no warning and no message, so achievements simply stop arriving. Clean Record switches the whole judgement off in Valheim, so none of the three ends your run's achievement progress.
Do ProjectMods mods stop Valheim from awarding achievements?
No, ProjectMods mods do not set Valheim's judgement off by themselves, and we would rather say that plainly than sell you something you do not need. If ours are the only mods you run, your achievements keep counting without Clean Record. It exists for the far more common setup: a few of ours, a few from elsewhere, and the occasional console command when a boulder eats your cart. Any of those can trip the rule, and once it trips, Valheim stops counting quietly. Clean Record covers all of it, and Check My Record confirms where you currently stand in one press.
What does the Check My Record button tell me?
Check My Record tells you plainly whether Valheim is still counting your achievements right now, and if it is not, why not. That answer is the entire point, because Valheim itself never tells you. The game makes its judgement silently, and the first symptom is usually a long session where nothing unlocks at all. Press it before a big milestone fight, or straight after installing something new, and you know where you stand rather than guessing. It works as a spot check whether or not Keep My Record Clean is switched on, so you can keep it on hand purely to see where your Valheim run stands.
How does the marking spread through chests, cooking and buildings?
Items spawned through Valheim's built-in console get quietly marked, and the mark does not stay put. Put a marked item in a chest and the chest passes it on. Cook with marked ingredients and the meal carries it. Build with marked wood and the building keeps it. That is why a single console command from months ago can still be sitting in your base, quietly holding your achievements shut, because the mark has spread through your storage, your kitchen and your hall. Clean Record stops items being marked in the first place and switches off the judgement acting on it, so the spread stops.

System Requirements
What features does Clean Record include?
- Keeps achievements counting even after you've used Valheim's own console or loaded mods from somewhere else.
- Stops spawned items being marked, so the mark never spreads into your chests, your cooking or your hall.
- Press Check My Record for a plain answer on whether your deeds are counting right now, and why not if they aren't.
- Flip Keep My Record Clean on once and forget it — nothing to re-arm each load, no popups, no warnings mid-session.

Best For
- Players who typed one console command to free a stuck cart and quietly lost achievement progress for the rest of the save
- Mixed setups — a few mods of ours, a few from elsewhere — where something in the pile is switching achievements off without saying so
- Anyone playing a shared world where somebody else spawned items, and now the chests and cooked meals carry the mark
- Completionists who want to confirm, before a long Deep North session, that the 53 achievements are still being counted
- Returning players who can't work out why six hours of 1.0 produced no pops at all and want a straight answer
